Modern Woodmen of America is looking for a dynamic leader to lead our Agency Payroll and Compensation team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising departmental operations. You will oversee and ensure commissions and all other forms of compensation for our financial representatives nationwide are processed accurately and promptly. Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize and administer the daily operations of the Agency Payroll and Compensation department.
- Develop and maintain rapport with financial representatives, understand their concerns and educate them on compensation procedures.
- Train, motivate and develop personnel to meet the current and future needs of the department and Modern Woodmen.
- Instruct, answer questions, delegate and review the department workflow to ensure the prompt and accurate processing of all work.
- Maintain discipline, resolve problems and determine performance, promotion, transfer or dismissal within the department.
- Prepare and adhere to the department’s annual budget
- Provide prompt and accurate compensation for financial representatives, including all appropriate tax form reporting.
- Oversee and communicate with internal/external auditors to ensure compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with Modern Woodmen policies and regulatory requirements.
What we need:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or related field.
- 7 years’ related experience, including previous leadership experience.
- Designations and certifications: LOMA fellowship or ability to obtain.
- Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with staff at all levels of the organization, including internal and cross-departmental teams, consistently displaying a high level of professionalism.
- Must possess the ability to work with confidential reports and information with complete discretion.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

- Pay: The annual salary range for this position is $100,000-$114,000. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
- Work Arrangements: This is a full-time office focused, salaried position. Office focused positions work on-site due to the nature of the work and have limited remote days.
