Your Role
Pathlight Property Management is seeking a senior real estate paralegal to join its legal department. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, the paralegal will be responsible for a variety of matters covering a broad range of responsibilities, including independent management of day-to-day landlord/tenant issues, dispute resolution, and litigation, to administrative assistance to the AGC. Additional details are outlined in the responsibilities below. The role will be remote with two days in onsite in our Plano, TX
Responsibilities
- Assist with dispute resolution and litigation, as well as responses to complaints while ensuring that the Company’s business objectives are met. Provide recommendations to Associate General Counsel with regards to identifying matters requiring escalated review.
- Assist with a variety of matters related to property management and tenant claims.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing and/or negotiating a variety of contracts related to the business, including lease agreements, purchase and sale/escrow agreements, commission agreements, home owner’s association documents, easements, licenses, consulting and service agreements, vendor and construction contracts, non-disclosure agreements, software licenses, financing instruments, and corporate governance documents.
- Maintain processes and systems for contract automation, management and renewal.
- Liaise with internal and external clients, as well as outside counsel.
- Provide administrative assistance to Associate General Counsel, as needed.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience gained in a corporate law department and/or law firm.
- Prior commercial or residential real estate (specifically landlord/tenant) and litigation experience is required. Fair Housing experience a plus but not required.
- Must be able to handle sensitive information and uphold attorney-client privilege with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
