As we grow, we’re looking for a skilled Medical Biller to join our billing department and support our mission.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Medical Biller who will be responsible for managing Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA), posting payments, and sending patient statements. The ideal candidate will have experience with Tebra (formerly Kareo), and a strong background in medical billing, preferably in pulmonary or respiratory care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) and ensure accurate payment posting
- Reconcile payments and resolve any discrepancies or denials
- Prepare and send patient statements
- Follow up on outstanding claims and coordinate with payers as needed
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure proper documentation and billing compliance
- Use Tebra for claim management, reporting, and posting (training through Tebra University provided if needed)
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance requirements and billing regulations
- Handle confidential patient information in compliance with HIPAA standards
Requirements:
- 2 years of medical billing experience (required)
- Experience with electronic remittance (ERA) and patient statement processing
- Strong understanding of medical billing and coding standards
- Experience in pulmonary, respiratory, or chronic care billing is highly preferred
- Tebra (Kareo) experience highly preferred; Tebra University training will be provided
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing
- Knowledge of telehealth billing practices
- Experience working with remote teams and digital communication tools
- knowledge of denials and rejections
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $24.00 per hour
