Job Description: As an Accounting Specialist at Home Roofing Solutions, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our company. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and oversee financial records, perform comprehensive financial planning and analysis, and support the CFO in various accounting tasks. You will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, handle accounts payable and receivable, and contribute to strategic decision-making by providing insightful financial data. Your meticulous attention to detail and adherence to high standards will help uphold the financial strength of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Record Keeping:

· Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.

· Recording financial transactions, including income, expenses, and purchases.

2. Accounts Payable and Receivable:

· Managing accounts payable by processing invoices, verifying expenses, and ensuring timely payments to vendors.

· Managing accounts receivable by generating invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.

3. Reconciliation:

· Reconciling bank statements with internal records to ensure consistency and accuracy.

· Reconciling discrepancies and resolving any issues with transactions or balances.

4. Payroll Processing:

· Calculating and processing employee payroll, including deductions, benefits, and taxes.

· Ensuring compliance with payroll laws and regulations.

5. Financial Reporting:

· Preparing financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

· Generating financial reports for management and stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and financial trends.

· Preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to review with the CFO.

· Ensuring timely and accurate submission of financial reports.

· Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.

6. Financial Planning and Analysis:

· Developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.

· Analyzing financial data and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.

· Monitoring financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.

7. Compliance and Auditing:

· Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.

· Assisting with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.

8. Data Entry and Management:

· Entering financial data into accounting software and maintaining accurate records.

· Organizing and managing financial documents and records, both physical and electronic.

9. Cost Control and Analysis:

· Monitoring and analyzing financial transactions to identify cost-saving opportunities.

· Assisting in the development and implementation of financial controls and procedures.

10. Customer and Vendor Relations:

· Communicating with customers and vendors regarding billing, payments, and discrepancies.

· Resolving any financial issues or disputes that arise.

11. Support to the CFO:

· Providing support to the CFO in various accounting tasks and projects.

· Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.

12. Tax Preparation:

· Assisting in the preparation and filing of tax returns and other regulatory documents.

· Keeping up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations.

13. Software Proficiency:

· Utilizing QuickBooks accounting software for managing financial records.

· Proficiency in using spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

Qualifications:

· A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (An associate degree in accounting or finance, coupled with relevant experience, may be considered.)

· Proven experience in financial management, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry.

· Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.

· Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Organizational and time-management skills.

· Interpersonal skills for collaboration across departments.

· Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.

· Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to diverse stakeholders.

· Attention to detail and accuracy.

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
