What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian Janitor position at Home Run Inn?
Home Run Inn Pizza is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in our office spaces, break rooms, locker rooms, restrooms, hallways, and other shared areas within our food production facility and offices. This position plays a key role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for employees and visitors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cleans, sanitizes, vacuums and mops common areas (break room, bathrooms, office space, test kitchen, Lobby, etc.)
- Disposes of waste in common areas, break room, bathrooms, offices, exterior entrance doors
- Replenishes soap, paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, etc. in common areas
- Cleans out refrigerators, freezers and Microwaves.
- Maintains frock inventory and storage space
- Maintains cleanliness of break room and test kitchen appliances.
- Clean and pick garbage at 1200 Internationale Pkwy Woodridge offices two times per week.
- Complies with safety and GMP requirements.
Schedule: 10:30am-7:00pm Monday-Friday with occasional weekends based on department needs.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports a culture of safety; follows all safety procedures.
- Responsible for safety performance in respective area.
- Ensures the implementation of, adherence to, and enforcement of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ensures activities are completed to promote and enforce safe behaviors by supervisors and employees.
- Fulfills responsibilities as outlined in the company safety program.
Requirements
- Must be able to understand Safet Data Sheets (SDS)
- Must maintain regular and timely attendance.
- Has impeccable organizational skills and be detailed oriented.
- Must be a self-starter that can work independently with minimal supervision.
- As required, works in a loud area that requires hearing protection and other protective equipment to be worn.
- May be exposed to potentially hazardous chemicals and biological materials.
- Frequently exposed to some of the FDA designated major food allergens (Milk and Wheat)
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including off shifts and weekends.
- Must be able to stand, sit, walk, reach and stoop for the duration of an 8-hour shift with applicable breaks
- Ability to lift up to 40-50 pounds for extended periods of time.
Work Environment:
- Work is primarily indoors in an office and plant-adjacent environment.
- May occasionally be exposed to temperature variations, cleaning chemicals, or noise typical of a production setting.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required based on the area of assignment.
