K-12 Marketing Manager

Reports to : Director of Marketing

Purpose : The K-12 Marketing Manager will lead our K-12 educator B2B marketing efforts and drive business growth. They will develop and execute comprehensive strategies across various channels to generate leads, enhance brand visibility, and support customer acquisition. They play a key role in planning and managing B2B events, overseeing B2B website storefront, and creating compelling content that resonates with target audiences. With a strong focus on research, analytics, and collaboration, they align marketing initiatives with sales goals while continuously optimizing performance through data-driven insights.

This position is ideal for a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise in digital marketing, campaign execution, and relationship-building who is passionate about driving measurable impact in the K-12 education B2B landscape.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Strategic Planning & Research :

Develop and implement comprehensive, multi-channel K-12 marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, generate leads, and nurture prospects through the sales funnel.

Conduct market research to understand customer behavior, industry trends, and competitor strategies.

Develop, document, and implement customer journeys across marketing channels, sales contact points, etc.

Define new product line marketing strategies and go-to-market plans as needed, working closely with the Product team.

Messaging, Positioning, and Content Development :

Define messaging guidelines, tone, and voice that align with the HST brand while addressing unique K-12 customer needs.

Maintain a content calendar that aligns with B2B marketing plans across all channels, including Twitter (X), LinkedIn, email, and website.

Research and develop clear, concise, and conversational copy, including short-form (headlines, digital banners, social posts) and long-form (i.e., campaigns, emails, whitepapers, etc.) to position the company as a thought leader in science education.

CRM Management, Campaigns, and Lead Generation :

Design, execute, and optimize multi-channel marketing campaigns (email, content marketing, paid ads, social media, events, etc.) to generate high-quality leads and drive brand awareness.

Import and manage customer data obtained through events and other sales funnels into HubSpot, creating flows as needed to support new leads.

Continuously improve email marketing by applying best practices and capturing and analyzing the appropriate KPI to optimize results.

Implement demand generation strategies to attract and qualify leads, nurturing them through the sales funnel with targeted messaging and automated workflows.

Define and implement an annual strategy to constantly improve email lead generation, list growth, and sales appointments while nurturing customers. Research and apply best practices.

Measure and report on campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Event Planning :

Identify, plan, organize, and execute B2B-focused events, such as trade shows, webinars, conferences, and networking sessions.

Coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, registration, speaker engagement, product representation, and promotional activities, while managing the Sales Events budget.

Define and develop collateral for trade shows and conferences for B2B in collaboration with Marketing team members (projects may be managed by Project Manager).

Track event performance and ROI, providing post-event analysis and insights.

Attend K-12 conferences or other events, when needed.

B2B Website & Storefront Management :

Manage and optimize the company's B2B website to ensure an intuitive user experience and alignment with business objectives.

Oversee online storefront operations, including product listings, pricing updates, and promotional campaigns.

Work with the internal Marketing team and the eCommerce Manager to implement website & functionality improvements, ensuring mobile responsiveness and SEO best practices.

Monitor website analytics and make data-driven decisions to improve conversion rates and customer satisfaction.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Contribute to Marketing team collaboration and meetings.

Collaborate with Sales Director to align marketing initiatives with sales objectives and provide tools and insights as needed.

Collaborate with Product team to position offerings effectively in the marketplace.

Define, track, and analyze appropriate KPI to assess the effectiveness of marketing activities.

Ensure K-12 brand tone and voice are consistently incorporated into B2B campaigns.

Manage the annual K-12 print catalog process and coordinate development with Visual Designer and Content Manager.

Plan and execute all facets of K-12 product marketing and merchandising for campaigns, landing pages, website, and more.

Maintain integrity of email lists by cleaning, importing, and appending data.

Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders on marketing ROI as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS :

Bachelor's degree in marketing, digital marketing, communications, or equivalent related experience

5 years of B2B marketing experience (with some experience in the K-12 education sector)

Experience with HubSpot (1 year minimum)

Proven track record of developing and executing successful B2B campaigns

Proficiency with CRM and marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot)

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

Natural curiosity and interest in science

Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to influence others

Strong analytic and quantitative skills, using data to develop and measure marketing programs

Possesses strong marketing knowledge including marketing strategy, customer journey mapping, and digital marketing channels.

Able to think creatively and innovatively

Experience using and editing HTML

A self-starting team player and able to prioritize and complete multiple projects well, on time, and with proper attention to detail

Ability to work cross-functionally with other teams

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, comfortable with Excel and manipulating data to perform both high level and granular analysis

Physical Demands & Working Conditions :

Located in Billings, Montana (remote work is an option for this position)

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Auditory ability to listen attentively in a busy office environment

Good close, distance and peripheral vision

Ability to handle stressful situations such as dealing with conflict in respectful manner

Compensation and Benefits :

Competitive wage based on experience.

Paid time off includes PTO and nine holidays.

Location : Corporate Office, Billings, Montana (Preferred), but Remote would be acceptable.

Travel Required : Less than 15%
