JOB SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE:
Responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and conducting highly skilled technical, safety, and customer service training for the Installation and Repair Team. Conducts training for technicians and supervisors at the basic, intermediate, and advanced skill levels. Coordinates all formal training functions with management, including employee scheduling classroom set-up, training materials and objectives, and employee training records. Researches writes, and revises curriculum lesson plans in coordination with I/R Management and other departments as necessary. Maintains current knowledge of relative NEC requirements as well as industry standards and guidelines
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instruct trainees in basic, intermediate, and advanced subjects while establishing and maintaining an effective learning environment in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and various corporate initiatives by preparing training agendas and materials.
Provides data to management/supervision on the effectiveness of the program, and performance of trainees and identifies areas that need improvement with the use of company metrics and technician scorecards.
Conduct regular and ongoing site inspections to ensure compliance and provide additional training where necessary.
Regularly reviews company metrics and technician scorecards with IR supervisors and Managers.
Counsel trainees and provide advanced assistance as required.
Other duties as directed by management.
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma/GED Diploma required. Technical training and electrical experience are required.
Related Experience: 10 years of hands-on telecommunications industry experience which demonstrates a proficient level of knowledge of telephony, outside plant construction, and repair practices preferred.
Skills or Talents: Self-motivated learner with a great attitude, strong technical aptitude, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Must be able to work well in a team environment.
The position requires excellent problem-solving skills. Looking for someone professional, upbeat, energetic, takes initiative, dependable, and takes pride in their work. Ability to work well with others and perform other duties as required. Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast pace environment. Must have a clear and valid driver’s license
