What are the responsibilities and job description for the Merchandising Internship position at Home Zone Furniture?

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate Internship requirements needing fulfilled to your Home Zone Manager
- Work closely with the buying team to understand weekly directives
- Formulate an understanding of the purchasing process
- Provide store visual merchandising support to an assigned Visual Merchandiser
- Learn the merchandising operations need at the store level
- Participate in the weekly studio design process for photography and videography
- Complete an assigned project over the course of the internship to present at the internships conclusion
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
- Passionate about merchandising, especially the Home Accent space
- Strong communication, leadership and time management skills
- Critical thinking when faced with new daily challenges and the ability to ask thoughtful questions
- Willingness to pivot into new assigned tasks based on business needs
- Ability to thrive independently through assigned projects and tasks
REQUIREMENTS
- Current Junior or Senior status at an accredited university
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Willingness to travel around the DFW metroplex including to our Corporate office in Midlothian
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and maintain a level of physicality over a period of time
