The Van Driver will be responsible for providing efficient and courteous service to guests while safely driving them in the hotel van, and when needed assist guests when entering and leaving the van. Van Driver may also be assigned to work in other departments on an as needed basis.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old, have a valid Virginia Driver’s License, and a good driving record to satisfy the hotel’s insurance requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Tuesday, Friday 3-11
- Always drives the hotel van in accordance with Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles laws.
- Completes Pre-Trip Vehicle Inspection List at the beginning of each shift. Notifies manager of any vehicle maintenance needs. Refuels vehicle as necessary. Protects company assets.
- Documents all vehicle incidents (i.e., damages, accidents) and provides reports of incidents to manager/supervisor. Reports accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to manager.
- Welcomes and acknowledges all guests in a courteous manner, anticipates and addresses guests’ service needs, assists individuals with disabilities, and thanks guests with genuine appreciation.
- Maintains Trip Log accurately during each shift, documenting all trips prior to the start of and at the conclusion of each trip.
- Parks vehicle in designated property location when not in use.
- Is familiar with local area around the hotel, and knows directions to major attractions in the hotel’s vicinity.
- Can lift and carry luggage that weighs up to 50 lbs.
- Maintains a well-groomed, professional appearance. Extends hospitality and courtesy to guests and co-workers.
- Ensures compliance with Brand Standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned by proper authority.
