SUMMARY: The Night Auditor's primary responsibility is to make our guests feel happy and welcome. This person will be detail-oriented, reliable and able to anticipate the guests’ needs. This person needs to be able to work alone, troubleshoot and problem solve. Preferred candidate will have a good driving record, and will assist with Hotel Shuttle, if needed.
Hotel Night Auditor shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times, and will be responsible for exemplifying the Hotel's Culture.
Job Duties
- Check-in and check-out hotel guests in a confident, professional, and friendly manner
- Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests
- Provide gracious and efficient telephone service – Calls should be answered promptly and knowledgeably, always ensuring complete and accurate information
- Review guest arrivals while noting special requests and blocking rooms as necessary for VIP/HHonors members and group arrivals
- Complete all items as listed on shift checklists
- Communicate with housekeeping and front desk of any no-shows, room moves, early check-outs, etc.
- Balancing of daily postings and revenue in system
- Timely and accurate preparations and distribution of daily reports by email
- Expeditious and diplomatic resolution of guest issues
- Security checks of entire building are done routinely through the night- Ensure proper registration of guests and credit procedures are followed
- Exporting of the Daily Reports and emailing same to various department heads at the hotel
- Help Housekeeping Department in certain aspects of their duties (Laundry, common area cleaning, and bathroom cleaning)
- Ensure proper credit card procedures are followed – Adhere to all cashiering procedures: open, secure and balance out shift banks to include the verification of all cash, credit card, and check transactions during a given shift
- Fill in as hotel shuttle driver, if needed – Must possess an excellent driving record, verified by Motor Vehicle Administration report
Maintain knowledge of:
- All hotel features/services, hours of operation
- All room types, numbers, layout, decor, appointments and location
- All room rates, special packages and promotions
- Daily house count and expected arrivals/departures
- Room availability status for any given day
- Scheduled daily group activities
- Advise guest of any messages, mail, faxes, etc. received for them
- Communicate service and amenities of the hotel to guests
- Accept and record wake-up call requests
- Communicate relevant guest info to designated departments
- Provide Concierge service - fluent knowledge of local restaurants, special events, city attractions, and guest amenities
- Work various shifts and perform night audit functions
