Job Title: Laundry Attendant

Job Summary:
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for managing the laundering of guest linens, towels, and other hotel fabrics. This role ensures that all laundry is cleaned, dried, folded, and stored in a timely, efficient, and high-quality manner. The Laundry Attendant plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the hotel, contributing to guest satisfaction and overall hotel cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:1. Laundry Operations:
- Laundry Cleaning: Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment to clean guest linens, towels, bedspreads, and other items as required.
- Sorting & Pre-Treating: Sort and treat laundry items before washing according to their type, fabric, and color. Pre-treat stains or heavily soiled items as necessary.
- Load and Unload: Load and unload laundry machines efficiently, ensuring that items are processed promptly and correctly.
2. Folding & Storing:
- Folding: Properly fold and organize towels, linens, blankets, and other fabric items.
- Storage: Ensure that clean linens and towels are neatly stored in the appropriate storage areas, ready for use by hotel staff and guests.
- Inventory Management: Maintain an organized inventory of clean laundry and linen supplies, notifying management when stock levels are low.
3. Cleaning & Maintaining Laundry Area:
- Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including washing machines, dryers, and folding tables.
- Safety Standards: Follow all health and safety regulations while using laundry equipment and chemicals.
- Report Malfunctions: Notify the supervisor or management of any issues or malfunctions with laundry equipment.
4. Guest Service Support:
- Guest Requests: Respond to any guest laundry requests or inquiries in a timely, professional manner. Ensure that laundry services are provided according to the hotel’s standards.
5. Additional Tasks:
- Assist with Special Projects: Help with other hotel cleaning tasks as requested by the housekeeping department or hotel management.
- Maintain Records: Keep track of laundry loads and monitor laundry quality to ensure consistency and guest satisfaction.
- Assist with Deliveries: Help in delivering clean linens and towels to guest rooms or other areas of the hotel as needed.
Qualifications:Experience:
- Previous Experience: Experience in a laundry, housekeeping, or similar role is preferred but not required.
Skills:
- Attention to Detail: Ability to inspect and ensure the quality of laundry services and handle items with care.
- Time Management: Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively to meet laundry deadlines.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move laundry items regularly, as well as operate heavy-duty laundry machines.
- Teamwork: Ability to work cooperatively with other staff members in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to stand for long periods, bend, and perform repetitive tasks.
