Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities or other needs in various settings, including assisted living facilities, group homes, and home care environments. Your primary goal will be to enhance the quality of life for those you support by promoting independence and dignity.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance social engagement.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes in health status to the appropriate personnel.
- Help clients develop life skills through structured activities and community involvement.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with team members regarding client needs and progress.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in patient care and support services.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, home care, social work, or group home settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and medication administration is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in healthcare or social services are advantageous.

Pay: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour
