JOB SUMMARY
The Sales Support Agent position provides support for licensed and non-licensed insurance agents at Retail Home Centers. The Sales Support Agent reports to the Sales Support Team Lead and partners with HomeFirst agents, Retail Home Centers, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance (VMF), and other lenders to increase the volume of insurance sales to Retail customers.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Insurance Pre-Closing
- Coordinates with Home Centers, closing attorneys, title companies, lenders, and various internal departments throughout the mortgage process to ensure a timely completion of pre-close insurance binder and invoice.
- Researches needed coverage, prepares replacement cost estimator, and reviews appraisals.
- Corresponds with lenders and home centers in gathering information for proof of coverage.
- Prepares insurance binders and invoices for closings.
Insurance Processing and Post-Closing
- Works various policies and error reports.
- Locates money and works lockbox reports.
- Creates, maintains, and issues insurance policies.
- Provides solutions to complex insurance-related problems for homeowner prospects, Retail Home Centers, and lenders.
- Maintains organized records of binders, invoices, correspondence, and related documentation.
Communication
- Fields incoming calls and emails from customers and Home Centers who need assistance with questions regarding existing/potential coverage or issues.
- Discusses homeowner needs with insured, Home Centers, and lenders.
- Assists Home Centers and lenders with policy changes.
- Provides excellent customer service to various business partners including Retail Home Centers, lenders, and HomeFirst Sales and Services.
- Communicates with any internal group needed to resolve any final issues that arise.
- Assigns Binder Closings to Licensed Service Agents.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records for OnBase and local drives.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of insurance or lending experience preferred.
- Current TN Property and Casualty License preferred. If not currently licensed, must obtain license within 90 days of hire. Continued education is also required.
- Competent computer skills in both Excel and Word.
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication and listening skills with customers, peers, and superiors.
- Proven ability to have initiative, good judgement, and the ability to make decisions independently.
- Problem solving, organizational, and follow-up skills.
- Great attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
- Good sense of urgency and follow up.

- Must be able to exchange accurate information at all times.
- Must be able to identify and assess account status and determine appropriate process.
- Will constantly work in a state-of-the-art indoor temperature controlled, sealed window office environment.
