Job Summary:
The Food Runner plays a vital role in ensuring efficient and seamless service by delivering food orders from the kitchen to guests in a timely and professional manner. They act as a liaison between the kitchen and the dining room, ensuring accuracy and maintaining the high standards of Homegrown Hospitality Group/Restaurant.
Responsibilities:
- Promptly and accurately deliver food orders from the kitchen to the correct tables, following established procedures and table numbering systems.
- Confirm order accuracy before leaving the kitchen and upon arrival at the table, ensuring all items are present and correct.
- Present dishes to guests with proper descriptions, if trained to do so, and answer basic questions about the menu.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the expo area, service stations, and dining room.
- Assist with pre-bussing tables, removing finished plates and glassware as needed.
- Support servers and bussers as needed, contributing to a smooth and efficient service flow.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and management regarding order status and any special requests.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times, representing [Homegrown Hospitality Group/Restaurant] positively.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a food runner or in a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to
work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. - Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of
time. Ability to lift and carry trays of food and beverages. - Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
