Line Cook
Job Description: The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and producing all food items on the restaurant's menu, including appetizers, salads, soups, entrees, desserts, and specialty items.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and standards.
- Food Safety and Sanitation: Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Station Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Equipment Operation: Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Closing Procedures: Complete closing duties, including cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Follow portion control and waste reduction guidelines.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Magnitude/Scope:
Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of proper sanitation, food safety, and security procedures
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Skilled in time management and organization with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to take direction and execute team and company objectives
- Knowledge of specs, cook times, plate presentation, etc.
- Adheres to ticket order management system
- Comply with all specs, quality standards, and department rules and procedures
- Take direction from outside and inside Expo
- Ability to follow specific service time and guidelines
- Ability to maintain a high degree of pace and intensity for an extended period of time
- Must be reliable and dependable by adhering to a schedule, covering shifts as necessary, and being on time for scheduled shifts
Interaction:
- Maintain positive working relationships with all Team Members and managers
- Work as a contributing member of a team
External Relationships:
- Exceed our Guest’s expectations every day by achieving the highest level of satisfaction with an extraordinary focus on friendly service, food, fun, and value
- Polite vendor interaction with delivery personnel for food, linen, chemical, pest control, etc.
Education/Experience:
- Required: Must be 18 years of age
- Preferred: Prior experience working in a restaurant or retail setting
Physical Demands:
The physical demands for this position are sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
