Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Oyster Shucker to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of food handling practices. As an Oyster Shucker, you will be responsible for expertly shucking oysters and ensuring they are prepared to the highest standards for our guests. You will be expected to interact with bar guests, helping them with their needs in conjunction with the bartenders. You are responsible for making shooters, ceviche and other dishes coming from the raw bar. This role is essential in maintaining the quality and freshness of our seafood offerings.
Responsibilities
- Skillfully shuck oysters while maintaining the integrity of the shell and meat.
- Prepare oysters for service, ensuring they are presented attractively.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines during food handling.
- Assist in meal preparation as needed, contributing to a smooth kitchen operation.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and quality control.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the oyster shucking area.
- Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of oysters and related supplies.
- maintain accurate waste log.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation or a similar role within the food industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with food handling practices and kitchen safety protocols.
- Proficiency in using knives and other kitchen tools effectively and safely.
