As a CNA for Homeland Center's Personal Care, you contribute to our culture of care and trust by providing hands-on care and assistance for residents within an independent living setting.
- This is a Part-Time opening for First (6:00am - 2:00pm) or Second Shift (2:00pm – 10:00pm).
- This opening requires a valid Certified Nurse Aide certificate and registration with the State of Pennsylvania.
Personal Care CNA Responsibilities include:
- Maintains resident stability by checking, observing, and recording resident condition and vital signs.
- Provides assistance with resident’s personal hygiene.
- Provides resident support with ambulation, feeding, positioning, and transporting.
- Provides resident comfort by answering call bells as quickly as possible and providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
- Documents resident care by recording care in electronic medical record or on forms, logs, etc., immediately after care is completed.
- Protects resident information by maintaining confidentiality and by adhering to HIPPA regulations; also encourages peers to not breach confidentiality.
- Serves and protects the residents of Homeland Center by adhering to all Nurse Aide Certification standards, reviewing and following the resident care instructions for residents in your care daily, following all facility safety policies and procedures, following all policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, morals and ethics.
- Improves Nursing Assistant knowledge by maintaining current certification status, attending training sessions, and maintaining a high level of competency related to nursing assistant skills.
- Contributes to successful resident care team by encouraging a cohesive and cooperative work environment, assisting other team members to accomplish goals related to resident care without hesitation or negativity.
Personal Care Certified Nurse Aide Requirements:
- Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a state approved CNA education and training program.
- Prior experience with Geriatric residents, preferred.
- General understanding of medical terminology
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid and Current CNA Licensure from the State of Pennsylvania
- Computer Skills:
- Experience and familiarity with electronic charting programs or willing to be trained.
- Other skills and abilities:
- Basic English Language Skills, including ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Basic Mathematical Skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Basic Reasoning Skills, including ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
