The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description The incumbent will report to the Office of Administration and Finance's Grants Program Administration Unit. Duties include but are not limited to: • Assist with the development of various federal applications for funding through the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/FEMA and the US Department of Transportation and conduct reviews of local applications.• Assist with the federal reporting requirements process.• Assist with the coordination of the Grants annual Regional Workshops and various stakeholder events. • Review and assess grant applications and make funding recommendations on the applications.• Conduct research and analysis on variety of topics, programs, and/or trends in homeland security funding. • Develop written products to assist in the sub-recipient application process and conduct various informational sessions and trainings throughout the process. • Serve as program lead on various working groups and grants programs• Provide assistance to grantees in administering their grant funded programs• Assist in completing data requests by Executive Staff, Executive Chamber, or to satisfy Freedom of Information Law submissions.•Candidate should possess the ability to speak comfortably with various group sizes and levels of professionals.• Work schedule may vary based on operational need.• Perform the full range of supervisory responsibilities to include the supervision of Public Safety Grants Representative 1s as assigned.• Travel may be required (approximately 30%), including during evening and weekends, depending on mission and assignment.• Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver’s License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required or otherwise demonstrate the capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job.

The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Current New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services employee with one year or more permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as a Public Safety Grants Representative 2 and are interested in reassignment; OR Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service in a position allocated to a Grade 21 or above and are eligible for transfer under Section 70.1, 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. NOTE: This vacancy posting is for the purposes of notifying individuals about transfer opportunities. In order to be eligible for the NCP, candidates must be in the direct promotion field, have one year of service as a Public Safety Grants Representative 1 and must not have failed, or failed to take the last holding of the promotion examination for the title listed above. Provisional Pending Examination: If a viable eligible list does not exist, a provisional appointment may be made in accordance with Civil Service Law. Candidates who accept a provisional appointment must take the next competitive examination and be reachable on the resultant eligible list in order to be considered for permanent appointment to the position. The minimum qualifications for a provisional appointment are: You must be a qualified employee of the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services or the Division of Criminal Justice Services and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Public Safety Grants Representative 1 or Criminal Justice Program Representative 1.
