What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician - Floater position at Homeland Stores?
PURPOSE STATEMENT: To provide courteous service to customers in addition to quick and accurate checkout of purchases.
SIGNIFICANT JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To greet customers, respond to customer questions/requests/complaints and explain store policies in a courteous manner.
- To process customer purchases quickly and accurately by the operation of an electronic cash register and scanner.
- To perform with direct supervision of the pharmacist in charge: 1) counting and/or pouring of medications; 2) affix the prescription label to the proper container; 3) retrieve prescription or files as necessary; 4) maintain third party billing and posting; 5) data entry, telephoning and maintaining patient profiles.
- To perform: 1) preparation for receipt of merchandise; 2) checking of each item in the totes; 3) stocking of merchandise on shelf.
- To perform: 1) place merchandise on the designated shelf; 2) sticker-price items with non-removable labels; 3) rotate stock; 4) the immediate pick up/removal of all packing materials/boxes .
- To perform the counting and recording of individual items of merchandise for inventory.
- To perform the manual price-marking/labeling of merchandise without a UPC code.
- To perform the movement of damaged/unsalable merchandise to an area designated by the pharmacist in charge.
- To perform the necessary tasks involved in changing of signs and tags.
- To perform the safety procedures used in the operation of the case cutter, utility knife and scissors.
- To safely use cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- To perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by the pharmacist in charge, substituting for absent workers and performing any additional tasks necessary to provide products and services to customers.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Pharmacy Technician reports directly to the pharmacist in charge.
Required education and experience:
- HS Diploma/GED.
- Current Oklahoma Pharmacy Technician License (Preferred).
- Obtain an Oklahoma Pharmacy Technician License within 30 days of hire (Required).
- Phase I Training must be completed within 30 days of hire.
- Phase II Training must be completed within 90 days of hire.

Work environment/physical demands:
- Constantly operates a computer program related to work required and computer printer.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
