What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler/Forklift Operator position at Homeland Vinyl Products?
The role of a Material Handler is to ensure that both the product being loaded for Homeland Vinyl customers and the incoming raw material is being accurately maintained while acting as an extension of Customer Service through efficiency and consideration. This is one of the few positions that allow for face-to-face interactions, at the Customer level.
- Good communication, customer service, and organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Ability to perform basic math and inventory calculations
- Ability to understand/practice trailer load maximization, as well as follow specifications for a trailer load layout
- Ability to identify product compared to labeling
- Ability to operate a forklift and complete required training
- Ability to maintain a safe, clean work environment
- Ability to operate various equipment, such as a pallet jack, compactor, hand strappers, razor knife, etc.
- Ability to stand, drive and/or walk for 8 to 12-hour shifts, as schedule demands
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., as needed
- Ability to move parts and repair finished bundles, as needed
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Ability to perform in a variety of temperatures/weather conditions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
