TITLE: AR Staff Accountant
SCHEDULE: Full-time position, 40 hours per week, hybrid
SALARY: $75,000
ABOUT HOMELESS CHILDREN’S NETWORK
The mission of Homeless Children’s Network is to decrease the trauma of homelessness and domestic
violence for children, youth, and families; to empower families; and to increase the effectiveness of
collaborative efforts among service providers to end homelessness and poverty.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The AR Staff Accountant reports directly to the Finance Manager. This position is responsible for supporting
all financial and legal compliance and risk assessment. The AR Staff Accountant is also responsible for
supporting budgeting, internal controls, audits, and reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Prepare monthly reconciliations for various accounts including bank, accounts receivable, and
accounts payable in Expensify and Sage Intacct system
● Review and analyze general ledger to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded
● Prepare all required documents and account information to assist with the annual
audit
● Organize and maintain all accounting records such as journals and ledgers, etc
● Analysis and monitor chart of accounts to identify problems with accounts
receivable and/or accounts payable
● Apply and receive payments, process check deposits, book and monitor donations
● Assist in month-end and year-end fiscal closing tasks
● Work cross-functionally with other departments for accounting matters as needed
● Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
● BS/BA Degree in Accounting or Finance or Business related
● 2-3 years of experience in accounting or related business field
● Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
● Strong organizational skills and communication skills
● Experience in AR and accounts reconciliation at a nonprofit organization recommended
● Experience using Expensify and Sage Intacct recommended
