Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, mission-driven Licensed Health Insurance Broker or Agent to join our team and play a vital role in helping the homeless population access health insurance coverage. In this role, you will conduct outreach, educate individuals on their options, and assist with enrollment in Medicaid, Medicare, and Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace plans.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach and education efforts in shelters, community centers, and public spaces to inform individuals about available health insurance options.
- Assist homeless individuals in navigating the enrollment process for Medicaid, Medicare, and ACA marketplace plans.
- Collaborate with social workers, healthcare providers, and nonprofit organizations to ensure seamless access to coverage and care.
- Guide clients through eligibility screenings, application submissions, and follow-ups to ensure successful enrollment.
- Stay up to date on state and federal healthcare regulations to provide accurate and reliable information.
- Advocate for individuals who may face challenges in obtaining documentation or understanding their insurance options.
- Maintain records of enrollments and provide reports on outreach effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Active Health Insurance License in the state of New York (required).
- Experience in health insurance sales, brokerage, or enrollment assistance (experience working with Medicaid and ACA marketplace plans is a plus).
- Passion for helping underserved populations and a strong sense of social responsibility.
- Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating with a larger team.
- Bilingual abilities (especially Spanish) are a plus but not required.
