This role is a full-time onsite position, reporting directly to the Men's Division Manager. This position allows for flexible scheduling, with one late night required and potential for up to one remote day per week in accordance with agency policies and procedures and at management discretion. The Case Manager will be responsible for:

Collaboration with HSI colleagues to ensure seamless provision of services and wrap-around support for all guests in this program division. Primary accountability will relate to assessing benefits history and barriers for each guest as they enter our shelter programs, and working individually with guests to assess income and benefits needs and provide appropriate referrals.

Assisting guests in overcoming barriers that will hinder progress in the program, which may include providing transportation in agency vehicles. Help guests obtain vital records and appropriately maintain copies of these documents.

Assisting guests applying for mainstream public benefits and entitlements programs and ensure ongoing maintenance of benefits and compliance with external agencies.

Evaluating education and training opportunities and assist guests with access to opportunities. Establish and maintain strong relationships with applicable external agencies, visit partner agencies and attend community based meetings.

Document case notes in NJHMFA's HMIS - Homeless Management Information System in a timely manner and in accordance with agency procedures.
Qualifications for this role include:

Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred

Minimum one year experience working with the homeless population preferred; Knowledge of Morris County social service resources and affordable housing resources is preferred

Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Basic knowledge of applicable software and technology including Microsoft Office Suite products.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Familiarity with/knowledge of Fair Housing laws

Accuracy and organizational skills

Regular and predictable onsite attendance during the scheduled hours for this role is an essential function

Ability to attend occasional offsite and off hour meetings as required by the duties of this role.

Full time permanent staff of Homeless Solutions are eligible to enroll in fully paid medical, dental and life insurance coverage plans in accordance with HSI policies.
