Who We Want: We want a Product Specialist who reports to the Product Development Manager and is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and maintenance of a vast suite of mortgage products and investor relationships. The Product Specialist is a vital member of HFG’s Secondary Marketing Department, and will work closely with other members of the Secondary Marketing team and must also forge strong relationships with all areas of Operations and Sales.
Essential Duties:
- Aids in the development, implementation and maintenance of all mortgage products in compliance with agency, investor and regulatory requirements as they may apply
- May become the primary Subject Matter Expert for one/multiple specific set of mortgage products (i.e. DPA, Non-QM, Non-Conforming, etc.)
- May be responsible for assisting in the training/maintenance of various A.I. tools
- Will be required to develop and maintain product specific materials (i.e. matrices, job aides, etc)
- Will be required to assist in the development and maintenance of HFG’s intranet
- May assist sales/operations with questions related to mortgage products and loan scenarios
- May provide solo training on mortgage products to sales/operations
- Serves as liaison with all departments to maintain current training and program accuracy
- Assists in completing new investor applications and annual recertifications
- Serves as a point of contact with current investors
- May be responsible for writing and sending official company-wide communications and updates
- Aids in the on-boarding of products and investors into HFG’s LOS system
- Source, grow, and manage new product projects as directed
- Works closely with Capital Markets and the Lock Desk to ensure product and pricing accuracy within HFG’s pricing and eligibility engine
- Aids in the maintenance of HFG’s wholesale broker list and all wholesale relationships
- Develops and maintains reports within Excel and other business intelligence platforms
- Will be required to make supported recommendations to management
- Perform administrative tasks required of the Product Department
- Participates in Homeowners internal meetings and required trainings
- Maintains a professional image and demonstrates an understanding of and follows all Homeowners Policies and Procedures

Requirements
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Prior mortgage experience required
- Prior experience working 100% remote strongly preferred
- Proficient PC skills to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook
- Proficient with remote working tools (Zoom, GoToWebinar, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
- Experience with Encompass/Optimal Blue and major origination systems preferred
- Working knowledge of mortgage origination process, FNMA, FHA, VA, RD, and SAFE ACT guidelines
- Working knowledge of Down Payment Assistance, Non-Conforming, and Non-QM products preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
