Homer-Center School District is currently accepting applications for Part Time Cafeteria/Food Service positions. $12.35 /hr.
All positions are Monday through Friday day time hours, no weekends, evenings, or holidays. Duties and responsibilities may change daily/weekly under the discretion of the Director of Food Service.

The Cafeteria/Food Service Employee plays a crucial role in providing nutritious meals and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for students.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of meals, following established recipes and portion control guidelines.
- Prepare fruit servings daily.
- Ensure that food is prepared and presented in a safe, appealing, and hygienic manner.
- Carts moved to the serving area.
- Serve meals to students, staff, and visitors in an efficient and friendly manner.
- Maintain a positive and customer-friendly attitude while interacting with students, staff and guests.
- Knowledge of required meal components for state/federal reimbursement
- Maintain cleanliness in the cafeteria, including tables, chairs, serving areas, and kitchen preparation and equipment.
- Adhere to proper sanitation and hygiene standards.
- Restocking clean kitchenware (everything off of dish washing line and 3 bowl sink)
- Remove and prepare trash receptacles, disposing of trash.
- Assist in monitoring and managing food inventory.
- Record usage in production manual.
- Stock inventory for serving lines
- Notify the cook/supervisor of low stock levels and participate in inventory counts as needed.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including food handling and storage procedures.
- Adhere to local, state, and federal guidelines related to school food service.
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service to students, staff, and visitors.
- Address concerns or inquiries regarding menu items and dietary restrictions.
- Understand food allergies and medical needs of students.
- As assigned by the Food Service Director, Business Manager, Principal or Superintendent.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a cafeteria or food service setting is a plus
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to use technology (computer, printer, phone, etc.)
- Participate in and satisfactorily completes all required training
- Physical demands that apply to this position:
- Stand for extended periods
- Lifting moderate loads (Up to 50 lbs), including overhead
