Senior Plant Health Care Technician
Position: Senior Plant Health Care Technician– Full Time
Department: Homer Tree Care, Inc.
Job Summary: The Senior PHC Technician is responsible for safe delivery and application of PHC services. They specialize in inspecting plant material, identifying issues, and ethically treating or preventing problems. The Senior PHC Coordinator should have strong leadership, decision making, and communication skills as they may be responsible for managing one or two members of support staff.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Aid and Assist sales team with field estimates
- Schedule routes for technicians and crews
- Develop, implement, and update annual Plant Health Care programs
- Conducts and participates in training and assisting technicians in the field daily as it pertains to plant health care, lawn care and vegetation management operations.
- Manage inventory of plant health care products and equipment
- Diagnoses plant health issues and selects appropriate products or treatments
- Understand and demonstrate proficiency with products and techniques used to maintain plant health
- Ensures that all company policies regarding the storage and handling of pesticide products are adhered to
- Maintains consistent communication with Plant Health Care Technicians, tree crews, and customers.
Qualifications & Skills:
- ISA Certified Arborist
- Several years of experience in plant health care or similar field
- Clean motor vehicle record and valid driver’s license
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Regional plant and horticulture knowledge
- Familiarity with Plant Health Diagnostic Skills; Abiotic injury, Construction injury, as well as insects and other animal pests and diseases
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform manual labor and work conditions that may include both high heat and cold temperatures
