What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optical Team Member position at Homer Eyecare?
Optical Team Member
If you’re a creative problem-solver, an active listener, a solid communicator, have an eye for the small things, and have a generally good vibe–you’re perfect! Frame fitting and styling to lens types and prescriptions to ordering and insurance–you can help solve problems and make people’s days and vision better! Experience in customer service, sales, or just working with people is a huge help, but no previous optical experience is required! We’re looking for someone who is eager to learn and grow, whether you’re starting a new career or building on previous skills.
Optician Description:
As an Optical team member, you’ll help guide patients and customers through the entire process of selecting the right glasses—choosing the perfect frames, understanding lens types, determining prescription details, and making recommendations based on individual needs, preferences, and lifestyle. There’s definitely a sales component, but we’re more in the business of education and making insightful recommendations based on each person’s needs, preferences, and lifestyle.
Optical Training:
You’ll receive on-the-job, paid training as you work your way toward becoming a fully trained Optician. What is an optician, you may ask? Opticians are “The Glasses People”. Adjusting frames, repairing broken glasses, setting up orders, working with labs, simplifying the mysteries of lens designs and prescriptions, and solving issues for patients.
