Pay Rate: $26.84 per hour

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Maintenance Tech is responsible for ongoing maintenance and repairs, as well as implementation of preventive maintenance plans, at the properties owned and/or managed by the HomeRise. The Senior Maintenance Tech works under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Follow all safety procedures as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Facilities Manager.
- Perform basic maintenance duties (with supervision) for all properties including:
- Plumbing: un-clog sinks, toilets, showers and tubs; repair/replace toilets/faucets.
- Electrical: repair/replace broken switches/plugs; replace smoke detectors.
- Carpentry: repair/replace damaged wood trim; make doors/windows operable (including sash cords); repair/replace door/window hardware.
- Glazing: replace broken door/window glass.
- Painting: exterior and interior.
- Telephone: relocate phone lines; replace telephone units.
- Drywall repair.
- Carpet cleaning/shampooing.
- Unit turnover.
- Process maintenance work orders through completion.
- Assess material/supply needs, submit purchase requests or purchase supplies as needed.
- Assist janitorial and maintenance staff in large scope projects and fill in for short term absences.
- Other tasks as assigned such as moving furniture, water clean-up, grounds maintenance.
- Complete daily work reports and work order tracking.
- Attend required Organizational and Departmental Meetings and Activities.
POSITION DETAILS

- Status: Full-Time / Non-Exempt
- Pay Rate: $26.84/ hour
- Schedule Hours: Generally, Mon - Fri 8 AM - 4 PM
- Union: This position is under the collective bargaining agreement with SEIU 1021
- Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years of previous experience in multi-family and/or multi-unit (apartment or hotel) maintenance field, and commitment to working on issues related to homelessness.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office is required.
- Technical skills in one or more of the following: carpentry, light electrical, plumbing, painting, floor care, pest control, managing related work projects.
- Thorough familiarity with basic and advanced residential building maintenance.
- Sensitivity to residents in a supportive housing environment.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability and willingness to provide a high level of customer service.
- Ability to train and support Maintenance Tech personnel.
- Ability to work with other Maintenance Tech and Senior Maintenance Tech personnel.
- Ability to adequately communicate (both verbally and in writing) with building management staff/residents.
- Strong interest in doing social justice advocacy.
- Valid phone number required.
