DRIVER
We are excited to invite a passionate and experienced Driver to join our team! Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for an experienced Driver for our City Sanctuary Facility for Families w/ Children located in Staten Island, NY. As the Driver, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, helping with delivering and transporting staff and clients as needed throughout all five NYC boroughs and upstate New York. Homes for the Homeless operate shelters for families experiencing homelessness in NYC. Our family residences are more than just a place to sleep. Families can make the most of their stay through accessing an array of onsite programs. Many of these programs are also available to people living in the local community. Our goal is to have a positive impact so families can thrive long after they leave our shelters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow specific regularly scheduled routes, charter routes or respond to requests from dispatch or management for unscheduled pick‑ups or drop‑offs.
- Collaborate and assist other sites with van runs when needed.
- Transmit and receive over two‑way radio system.
- Complete driver trip sheet for each shift.
- Report accidents or other safety concerns to dispatch.
- Ability to lift, up to 50 pounds
- Conduct garbage runs
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Other related duties as requested.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years’ driving experience.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets agency standards.
- Must provide complete driving abstract from the Department of Motor Vehicles before hire, and regularly once hired.
