SAFETY AIDE
We are excited to invite a passionate and experienced Safety Aide to join our team! Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for an experienced Safety Aide for our Families w/ Children facility in Bronx, NY. As a Safety Aide, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, working within the security department, but collaborating with other units to ensure the safety and comfort of the families we serve. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Patrol interior and exterior areas of building.
- Monitor the entry and exit of residents by maintaining a sign-in log and requiring identification.
- Enforce rules and regulations.
- Prepare incident reports or maintenance tickets on hazardous or dangerous conditions.
- Learn the fire safety plan and evacuation procedures and assist in fire drills.
- Prepare and assist in hazardous situations in the facility.
- Intervene in incidents and assist in emergencies throughout the building.
- Must be attentive to their post and could be standing for hours throughout their shift.
- Assist in emergency building situations (e.g. shovel snow, clean up a spill, etc.)
- Mandatory overtime which can include working a full double shift.
- Valid NYS Security Guard License.
- Current 8-hour certificate.
- 16-hour certificate.
- Fire Guard (F-02) or Fire Safety Coordinator license a plus.
