Summary :

Susie's House is a six-unit, single room occupancy (SRO) housing program, operated by Home with Hope, Inc. The program is focused solely on the needs of homeless women, with priority given to young adult women aged 18-24. Supervisors are responsible for the safe operation and monitoring of Susie's House.

Essential Job Functions :

Maintain safe and secure premises for all individuals.
Ensure the facility is clean, sanitary and operational.
Understand Tenant Rights / Obligations and assist tenants to adhere to them.
Monitor / enforce visitor access to adhere to Susie's House Guest / Visitor policy.
Regular communication with the Program Director and / or other support staff.
Monitor tenant behavior according to program guidelines.
Provide basic tenant support and assistance as needed.
Document daily interaction in the log.
Complete house checks during shift, and document accordingly.
Respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention during shift.
Alert Program Director if problems arise during shift involving residents, shift changes, illness, accidents, or anything deemed necessary.
Complete incident reports in a timely manner as required.
Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
Attend training in Adult CPR and Basic First Aid, Confidentiality, and Ethical behavior and any other topics deemed necessary and appropriate.

Other Responsibilities

Special projects as needed.

If unable to work scheduled shifts for any reason other than those under the CT Paid Sick Leave law, please arrange for staff coverage and notify Program Director prior to change.

Perform other duties as required.

Job Requirements :

3 to 5 years' experience providing residential services and support.

Highly motivated, problem solver.

Strong knowledge of issues related to homelessness, basic understanding of mental health and substance use issues and intervention techniques.

Exercises good judgement and decision-making skills.

Must be able to work with populations that have experienced vulnerability, trauma, compromised mental wellness and other conditions or situations that may have impacted housing instability.

Must adhere to all professional standards and ethical practices, including maintaining boundaries and professional relationships with clients, coworkers and others.

Ability to work independently.

Basic computer skills required.

Bi-lingual / bi-cultural a plus.

Demonstrated skills in working with clients from various backgrounds.
