Position Overview:
The VP, Creative & DM Strategy is a pivotal leadership role with significant responsibilities and visibility at the executive leadership level of the organization. This position will be responsible for overseeing the financial performance and growth of the direct mail membership segment, with a key focus on revenue growth and profit optimization through marketing strategy and creative excellence. This senior leader will play a pivotal role in data-driven decision making, while leading two of the most important teams in the acquisition funnel.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy framework aligned with overall business objectives and targets.
- Define and implement acquisition marketing strategies including test strategies and customer segmentation.
- Provide regular KPI updates and in-depth insights regarding campaign performance.
- Partner with Revenue Management to optimize all Direct Marketing mailings in accordance with ROI standards.
- Oversee a team of copywriters and art directors in the development of new creative concepts across a variety of media channels, from ideation to execution, to build a range of winning control creatives.
- Develop and deliver new winning concepts for marketing campaigns, branding, advertising campaigns and marketing messages. Understand design, copy, and recognize fresh approaches to marketing.
- Maximize marketing effectiveness by delivering new winning creatives (beat current controls) and translate business needs and objectives into direct mail, digital and print creatives that increase response rates and reduce the cost of acquisition.
- Consolidate and present monthly business reviews and financial updates to senior leadership, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all data and reports.
- Support the selection, customization, and implementation of systems and technologies to improve operations.

Job Requirements:
- 15 years of relevant experience in marketing strategy and creative operations
- Experience implementing metrics, process, and systems to enable first-class financial analytics and forecasting
- Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing teams
- Proven examples of control-beating direct mail
- Experience in multi-product marketing
- A strong command of typography, color, composition hierarchy and an understanding of how these elements work together to create successful direct marketing campaigns.
- Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud software, specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator and advanced PowerPoint skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage data to drive business outcomes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and building strong relationships.
- Able to communicate effectively across all functions and levels including presenting ideas to senior management
- Well organized, detail oriented with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while managing multiple concurrent tasks
