Homestead Gardens is looking for an Customer Service/Operations Department Manager to oversee daily store operations, customer service, and team development. If you're ready to make an impact, we invite you to join our vibrant community of garden enthusiasts and retail professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: The Customer Service/Operations Department Manager will lead the customer service team to deliver exceptional experiences. Handle escalated concerns and drive a customer-first culture.
- Operational Oversight: The Customer Service/Operations Department Manager will manage store opening/closing, cleanliness, merchandising, and inventory accuracy. Support seasonal resets and ensure floor readiness.
- Team Leadership: The Customer Service/Operations Department Manager will recruit, train, and develop associates. Lead department huddles, provide feedback, and foster a positive, safe work environment.
- Administrative Tasks: The Customer Service/Operations Department Manager will make sure the associates are in compliance with store policies, best practices, and safety standards as well as track and manage KPIs.
- Experience: 3-5 years in retail management, preferably in a garden center, nursery, or similar environment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, or Horticulture preferred).
- Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and customer service skills. Knowledge of cash handling, merchandising, and inventory management.
- Ability to work in indoor/outdoor settings with exposure to weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and move items (up to 30-50 lbs frequently, up to 100 lbs occasionally).
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and use store equipment (POS, scanners, etc.).
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Occasional travel to industry-related events.
