Recreation Aide – Part Time
HOURS:
Homestead Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is seeking a Part Time Recreation Aide for our 28 bed facility in Newton, NJ. Applicants must be able to work every weekend from 11:00 - 4:00 and two days a week from 10:00 – 4:00. Approximately 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct group recreation programs according to a monthly schedule.
- Provide 1:1 programs for residents as needed.
- Prepare supplies for residents who work independently.
- Provide daily attendance and documentation regarding resident’s participation in daily programs.
- Assist the Director of Recreation in any phase of the general program as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- Positive attitude and energy is a must!
- Experience in activities is a plus.
- Previous experience with geriatric population preferred.
Some Holidays
Experience: Experience in recreation work in Long Term Care or experience in a facility for the physically and/or mentally ill or the developmentally disabled. Responsible to run scheduled events and work 1:1 with seniors.
JOB SUMMARY
Under supervision of an Activities Director perform routine recreational task with facility residents
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: Employee must be able to perform each of the essential functions to effectively be successful in this position
Assist the Resident Activities Director in the planning, development, and implementation of activities which enrich the lives of the residents.
Conduct one-to-one programs and visit residents who are unable to participate in the daily activities.
Develop and lead small, medium, and large group activities.
Must be "Up-To-Date" with vaccines
