We are currently seeking an outstanding individual to join our team as the Assistant Director of Nursing. Monday through Friday. Must be available on call when needed. In this role you will be providing the quality of care that ensures the safety and well-being of all residents and provide direct resident care activities to include assessment, planning, implementing and evaluation of nursing care. You would ultimately be responsible for leading the Nursing Department to provide best practice, quality health care for our residents.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Supervise all healthcare associates to include hiring, training, evaluating and counseling within established policies and procedures.
· Supervise the LPN Care Team, Medication Technicians, CNAs, and Patient Care Assistants.
· Provide leadership and intervention to respond to emergencies and problems. Must be available on call.
· Maintain medical charting and required documentation under scope state regulatory guidelines for appropriate licensing and standard operating procedures and policies.
· Serve as the department representative and coordinator of the Quality Assurance program for nursing services.
· Assess residents for change in level of care and coordinate billing for that level of care, medical appointments and coordinate required transportation.
· Work closely with residents and families to develop & implement appropriate Plan of Care.
· Maintain contact with Physicians to facilitate medication orders, supplies or transportation.
· Schedule staff and secure replacements for absences.
· Maintain strong communication with family members of residents.
· Respond timely to all resident concerns with regards to Direct Care issues.
· Assist in filling out Incident Reports for residents and staff to include tracking and trending of incidents, follow-up and investigation of incidents and reporting to State agencies as required.
· Order medications and process new health care provider’s orders.
· Follow OSHA compliance and back safety procedures.
Desired Qualifications:
· Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) preferred or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Florida
· At least 2 years of progressively responsible leadership work experience in the long-term care industry or related field.
· At least 3-5 years of leadership/management experience.
· Active CPR certification required.
· Minimum of 2 years' experience in Nursing. Experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, preferred.
· Has basic knowledge and understanding of dementia, mental illness and general medical problems encountered by the elderly required.
