Hometown Eye Care is seeking a dedicated Optical Assistant/Backup Technician to join our friendly team!
In this dual role, you’ll enhance patient experiences and support our operations while playing a vital part in our patients’ eye health journeys.
As an Optical Assistant/Backup Technician, you will be responsible for:
Optical Assistant Duties:
- Manage Optical Jobs: Input and oversee all optical jobs in our system for timely processing.
- Patient Check-In: Greet and check in patients, managing the waitlist to enhance their experience.
- Transition Support: Facilitate transitions from the waitlist to optical, providing information and reassurance.
- Maintain Displays: Keep optical displays clean, organized, and inviting.
- Dispense Products: Dispense eyewear and accessories, entering transactions accurately into our system (Rev).
- Lab Management: Scan lab slips and track orders to ensure timely fulfillment.
- Payment Processing: Handle payments for optical services smoothly and accurately.
Backup Technician Duties:
- Records Management: Scan, file, and retrieve patient records, ensuring HIPAA compliance and accuracy.
- Referral Management: Handle referrals by scanning, faxing, and tracking communication with providers.
- Billing Support: Track co-management billing and assist in financial counseling for patients.
- Contact Lens Management: Order trials, manage inventory, and assist with contact lens fittings and troubleshooting.
- System Management: Ensure patient data is accurate in our Revolution system and assist with any technical issues.
- Pre-Exam Testing: Perform pre-exam tests and clearly explain the process to patients.
- Communication & Coordination: Foster positive communication with patients and colleagues, coordinating appointments and managing patient flow.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
