Job Title: Medical Assistant
Location: Hometown Medical Group; Cullman, AL
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM–5 PM; Every 3rd Friday Off

Position Summary:
As a Medical Assistant, your primary responsibility is direct patient care. This includes preparing patients for their visits, performing routine tests, assisting providers with procedures, and maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment. You will work closely with our providers and fellow team members to ensure timely and efficient care for all patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care (Primary Focus):
- Perform hands-on tasks in support of high-quality patient care
- Complete triage, including:
- Vital signs and chief complaint
- Medication reconciliation and refill requests
- Update allergies, medical problems, hospitalizations, and surgeries in patient's note
- Pull and update the first half of the note up to and including the Review of Systems (ROS)
- Ensure required forms (AWV, PHQ9, etc.) are completed
- Recheck blood pressure when appropriate
Clinical Duties:
- Restock exam rooms and maintain worksheet bins
- Conduct and assist with:
- Urine studies, rapid testing, A1C, PT/INR
- Immunizations during flu season
- Injections, EKGs, procedures, nebulizer treatments, Dexcom applications
Downtime Expectations:
- Handle faxes and medication refill requests
End-of-Day Responsibilities:
- Ensure all charts are complete and ready to close from MA standpoint (inputting AWV info into chart)
- Clean and shut down exam rooms
- Scrub patient charts for the next day
- Offer assistance to Clerical Nurse if your tasks are complete and no patients remain until time to go home
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or similar clinical role
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for patient care
- Ability to follow structured responsibilities and work collaboratively
- Medical Assistant certification not required; On-the-job experience is sufficient
