Case Management Support Job Description
The position of a Case Manager is one with many responsibilities. It is the first line of defense to help battle the disease of addiction within a treatment facility. We are responsible for the safety, accountability, and in cooperation with other departments, play a big part in the recovery of our clients. We must maintain a friendly, yet professional position when dealing with our clients. Leading by example is one of our most powerful tools. The position focuses on making sure our clients are living in a safe environment, attending meetings, when possible, giving advice and lending an empathetic/sympathetic ear to them. Our clients are always our #1 priority, keeping them safe, even if that means from themselves. Some of our responsibilities are as follows, but not limited to -
- Client counts hourly, all clients must be accounted for even if they are not in the facility.
- Transporting clients to various things, meetings, store, court, etc. While driving our clients anywhere, we must always obey the traffic laws and get our clients to their destination promptly and safely.
- Staff must always maintain a professional demeanor while at work and out with a client. Being friendly and professional, not being a friend with them. Consistency will be one of our TOP priorities.
- Staff should always arrive 10 to 15 minutes early, so that they may receive the shift report from the staff they are relieving. This is a way for them to relay any issues of the day. Major issues should also be documented in the Shift Log.
- Staff will complete a Shift Log for each shift they work. If more than one staff member is on, then only one will need to fill out the Shift Log. The Shift Log is a constant account of the day’s events. It is very important that it is always completed.
- Staff will be driving company vehicles, transporting clients. Staff are required to submit a driving abstract upon acceptance of employment. Staff will also be responsible for alerting facility staff of any traffic violations accrued during employment within five business days of occurrence.
- Staff will be responsible to search rooms on a weekly basis; staff should never search a room alone. If 2 staff members are available, the whole room may be searched. If only one staff member is available to search, staff should bring clients in one at a time and have them present while searching only that client’s possessions. After each client’s belongings have been searched, retrieve another client to search their belongings.
- Staff will be responsible for random urine screenings of clients. Staff will enter the restroom with client and stay present during the collection process. Staff should be able to verify that the sample is genuine.
- Staff must remain diligent with the rules of the facility. The rules are in place for the client and the staff’s safety. Straying from the rules will cause dissention within the staff and will result in disciplinary action for the staff member.
- Hometown Recovery and Counseling has a ZERO Tolerance policy for any bullying, violence, sexual remarks, and vulgar or coarse language. Remaining professional at all times is a must. Proof of any of these things will result in automatic termination.
- Counseling Centers must have an ever-changing way about them to adjust with the times, rules and regulations submitted by the state. Staff will always be welcome to ask questions. Direct questions to your immediate supervisor and your questions will always be answered if possible. Never feel embarrassed or nervous to ask any questions you have. Constant contact with you supervisor will keep you up to date with all matters concerning the facility and the clients.
- Staff will always keep company business away from the clients, clients do not need to know all the operations of the facility. You must show professionalism so as not to give clients information they are not privy to.
- 1st and 2nd shift will be responsible for store trips, meetings, activities approved by Director, chores, random drug screens, and making sure clients are in bed before midnight shift arrives.
- Staff will assist in self administration of medications for clients.
Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent, CPR and First Aid certified
Must be eligible to obtain Medicaid Billing Number, this means clean background checks are necessary.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
