What are the responsibilities and job description for the Animal Care Technician position at Homeward Animal Shelter?
Animal Care Technicians (ACTs) are the heart and soul of our organization! ACTs are responsible for the daily care of the animals that are residing within the shelter. Duties including feeding and medicating animals, cleaning kennels and common areas of the shelter, laundry, transporting animals from the vet clinics or pound, and other duties that enrich the lives of the animals within our facility.
We are currently seeking an individual that would be available for all shifts including morning shifts (6am-11am) and afternoon shifts (4-7pm) various days during the week. As well as weekend shifts; morning and afternoons (weekend shifts are either 7am-12pm or 3-7pm).
Candidates must be detail oriented, have a willingness to learn, be adaptable to a busy environment, must feel comfortable handling cats and dogs of various sizes/temperaments/breeds, and must have a valid driver's license. Must be at least 18 years of age.
