Pay, Hours, & Benefits:
-Pay Rate: $16.50 per hour.
-Full Time, approximately 40 hours per week.
-Schedule:
Tuesday-Thursday: 3:30pm-12am
Friday & Saturday: 2pm-10:30pm

Primary Role:
As a Guest Relations Coordinator for HomewardBound of the Grand Valley, your primary responsibility is to ensure that the guests at the shelter feel safe, welcome, and supported throughout their stay. Your role involves addressing guests' needs/concerns and ensuring that they have the information to access the resources they need to get back on their feet.
Responsibilities:
-Welcoming guests: As the first point of contact for guests arriving at the shelter, you will offer a friendly and warm welcome, providing them with an orientation to the shelter and its policies. You will also be responsible for checking guests in and out of the shelter, and ensuring that they have all the necessary paperwork and identification.
-Communicating effectively: You will work to create a supportive and welcoming environment that helps guests feel comfortable and safe. You will also be responsible for resolving conflicts using the appropriate de-escalation tools and address any concerns that guests may have.
-Assessing needs: You will be responsible for assessing guests' needs and connecting them with the appropriate resources, such as food, clothing, medical care, and counseling. You will work with other staff members and community organizations to ensure that guests have access to the resources they need.
-Maintaining records: You will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of guest stays, including their personal information, length of stay, and any services or resources provided. You will also be responsible for tracking guests' progress and developing individualized plans for their transition out of the shelter.
-Ensuring safety and security: You will be responsible for ensuring that the shelter is a safe and secure environment for guests, staff, and volunteers. This may involve monitoring guest behavior, enforcing shelter policies, and responding to emergencies or incidents.
-Collaborating with staff: You will work closely with other shelter staff members, including case managers, social workers, and volunteers, to ensure that guests receive the best possible care and support.
Requirements:
-High School diploma or equivalent.
-Valid Driver's License.
-Experience in a guest services or customer service role.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
-Understanding of the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness.
-Knowledge of local resources and service providers for people experiencing homelessness.
-Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
-Excellent communication in both one-on-one and group based work environments.
-Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
-Possess a friendly, positive, and compassionate attitude.
Physical Demands:
-Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
-The position may require bending, stooping, and reaching.
