JOB SUMMARY: Under supervision of the Recreation Supervisor and Pool Manager. Service the Lions Club Pool customers with beverages and food items as stocked by the park district. Provide quality service. Keep a clean work environment. Verbally work with customers and fellow staff to provide concession goods. Accountable for emergencies and able to fill out accurate reports. The H-F Park District’s mission statement is “to enhance the quality of life through diverse recreational opportunities, facilities and parks while caring for the environment”.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide outstanding customer service to our internal and external guests by providing friendly, responsive, courteous and helpful service.
- Responsible for accurate records, inventories, reports.
- Reports shortage to the Recreation Supervisor
- Responsible for proper handling of all monies.
- Responsible for sanitary conditions in concession stand when preparing food.
- Responsible for keeping a clean eating area for patrons.
- Staff required to wear staff shirt.
- Knowledgeable in how to handle accidents on deck or in stand.
- Must have neat appearance at all times – closed toe shoes, hair pulled back.
- Promote and stimulate good relationships with the public and other staff.
- Presents problems and solutions to the Manager on Duty and Recreation Supervisor.
- Adheres to the policies and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual.
- Concession Attendant responsible for carrying out related duties as assigned.
- Other related job duties as assigned.
COGNITIVE SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Ability to count money and give out correct change.
- Ability to make decisions, solve problems, and handle emergencies.
- Must be people oriented with good public relations skills.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Good accounting skills.
- CPR/AED Certified or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Illinois Food Handler Certified or ability to obtain.
