JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision and direction of the Site Director and Nature Camp Director, the camp counselor/recreation leader will assist with the planning, directing, implementation, and evaluation of programs and activities. The H-F Park District’s mission statement is “to enhance the quality of life through diverse recreational opportunities, facilities and parks while caring for the environment”.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide outstanding customer service to our internal and external guests by providing friendly, responsive, courteous and helpful service.
- Assist with the planning, directing, implementation, and evaluation of camp programs and activities.
- Plan, direct and participate in camp activities including arts and crafts, games, sports, and nature activities.
- Guide, direct, and motivate campers.
- Provide a safe environment for all campers.
- Be cordial and courteous to the public.
- Inform Site Director of all camp happenings.
- Assist with record keeping including attendance, accident, and emergency forms.
- Attend all staff meetings (camp site and camp-wide).
- Adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the staff manuals and trainings.
- Other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Experience working with children.
- CPR/AED Certification or the willingness to become certified.
