JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Racquet Supervisor, provides pickleball instruction and assists in the development of pickleball programs. The H-F Park District’s mission statement is “to enhance the quality of life through diverse recreational opportunities, facilities and parks while caring for the environment”.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide outstanding customer service to our internal and external guests by providing friendly, responsive, courteous and helpful service.
- Communicate with Racquet Sports Supervisor.
- Keep accurate records of all classes.
- Fill any open spots in group classes with the aid of the lesson wait list and follow up on any class absentees.
- Responsible for all equipment and supplies provided by the Park District.
- Develop lesson plans for the programs.
- Be cooperative and develop a good relationship with the public and other staff members.
- Solicit comments, suggestions and recommendations from students and relay these to the Racquet Sports Supervisor.
- Organize or assist in Pickleball Open Play ratings, Pickleball Leagues, Showcases, and Social Events. Must participate in social pickleball functions when mandated and other duties when assigned.
- Conduct a safe and educational program.
- Give guidance and direction to Pickleball Instructors.
- Assist in promoting all Park District programs and creating new ones.
- Use a tactful manner to enforce all rules and regulations within the Club as set forth by the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District Board.
- Adheres to the policies and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual.
- Other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications
JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be as innovative, creative and knowledgeable within your field as possible.
- Be up to date on teaching techniques, paddle and pickleball technology, and able to assist students accordingly.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be Professional Pickleball Registry or RSP Pickleball certified. Dues must be current.
- Have at least two years teaching experience.
- CPR/AED certified.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must attend meetings classified as mandatory.
