JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Racquet Sports Supervisor provides tennis instruction to participants. The H-F Park District’s mission statement is “to enhance the quality of life through diverse recreational opportunities, facilities and parks while caring for the environment”.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide outstanding customer service to our internal and external guests by providing friendly, responsive, courteous and helpful service.
- Report directly to the Racquet Sports Supervisor.
- Keep accurate records on all classes.
- Responsible for all supplies issued by the Park District.
- Conduct a safe and educational program.
- Develop a lesson plan for the programs.
- Keep Racquet Sports Supervisor informed of progress of students.
- Be cooperative and develop a good relationship with the public.
- Solicit comments, suggestions and recommendations from the students and relay them accordingly.
- Attend educational seminars to upgrade teaching knowledge and skill.
- Assist in promoting all Park District programs.
- Enforce all rules and regulations within the club as set forth by the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District board in a tactful manner.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual, Policy and Procedures Handbook and Employee Manual.
- Other related job duties as assigned.
COGNITIVE SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Positive approach.
Qualifications
JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a complete knowledge of the game of tennis and have the ability to demonstrate all related strokes and strategy.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- CPR/AED Certified.
- Knowledge of USTA Rules.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrate willingness to become certified Pro.
