Community Relations Coordinator
Pay Details:
The starting hourly rate range for this position is $25.00 to $28.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate offered will take internal value, peer equity, job-related factors, and other organizational considerations into account.
The Community Relations Coordinator reports to the Community Relations Manager and works within the Anaheim Ducks and Honda Center Community Relations department, as well as on behalf of the Anaheim Ducks Foundation, the main beneficiary of the Anaheim Ducks fundraising efforts. The Coordinator is responsible for assisting with various Community Relations initiatives and with administrative tasks pertaining to the needs of the department. The goal of all programs is to integrate the team, players, and brand into the community.
Responsibilities
- Administer Anaheim Ducks/Honda Center in-kind donation program, including the following:
- Evaluation of online requests
- Processing and distribution of items and certificates
- Redemption of ticket requests, in-game experiences, etc.
- Team signings
- Department inventory of autographed merchandise for donations, community appearances, etc., including tracking and ordering
- Oversee charity ticket programs for Ducks games and Honda Center events to local nonprofits, including the following:
- Maintenance of local nonprofit contact database
- Communication for ticket distribution, including e-mail blasts and phone calls
- Assessment of redemption rates and subsequent follow-up non-profit correspondence
- Participate in various Community Relations in-game elements, including:
- Creation of department game day itineraries
- Coordination of scoreboard messages
- Fulfillment of donated elements
- Assistance in in-game fundraisers and Community Partner game nights
- Schedule nonprofit community appearances for Wild Wing, Power Players, and Street Team
- Support departmental communication, consisting of internal and external monthly e-newsletters, printed materials, website content, and social media
- Contribute to the organization of staff volunteer activities
- Support planning and implementing signature fundraisers and community outreach events
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree is required with a minimum of one to two years of community relations sports experience
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be able to communicate effectively with diverse populations, including adults and children of all ages
- Detail-oriented, motivated, and a self-starter
- Must be able to prioritize multiple projects successfully in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with community outreach and service activities, displaying genuine enthusiasm for charitable involvement
- Team player with a commitment to relationship building
- Proficiency in MS Office products
- Internet savvy
- Knowledge of Orange County communities is helpful
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
