About this Position : _
The Supplier Quality Engineer core role and responsibility is minimizingsupplier quality issues using root cause analysis, implementing temporarysolutions and permanent countermeasures to ensure minimal line impact andoptimal product quality. Using a regional viewpoint, you will work withassigned suppliers toward continuous improvement of manufacturingcharacteristics and support collaborative problem resolution between HondaDevelopment and Manufacturing of America and suppliers.
Responsibilities include : _
Approve partprocess changes for design changes and non-design changes.
Approveconfirm Supplier root cause analysis, development of countermeasures and implementation
Perform data analysis, prioritize top impact issues and drive supplier characteristic improvement activities
Oversee and manage problem-solving analysis and investigations
Coordinate supplier countermeasure activities to provide an effective solution
Communicate with suppliers and other departments in regard to countermeasures
Build technical, Honda Way, and Department knowledge
Who we are seeking : _
Required Work Experience :
0-6 years of experience dependent upon education level. 1 term as a Honda co-op or in a similar manufacturing environment preferred.
Required Education :
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, technical design, industrial, electrical, etc) or 6 years engineering experience in lieu of a degree OR an associate’s degree in engineering with 2 years of experience
Desired skills :
Quality assurance, blueprint reading, part measurement, Catia3D, MS office proficient, negotiation and communication skills.
Additional Position Factors :
Open Office Environment, walking, sorting parts, travel, and overtime possible (Approximately 4 hours of overtime per week)
