About this Position :
Gathers cost information, prepares budgets, and analyses expenditures.
Uses analytical skills and professional accounting knowledge to work with Business Unit Leads, Department Lead, and investment project leaders in the creation of six budget events per year. Leadership over financial analysts to ensure appropriate accounting principles are utilized, good customer service and overall completion of team activities. Supports the Group Lead on advising business unit leadership on key drivers of financial performance and provide forward looking guidance on financial trends. They also support rolling up total company costs during budget and monthly analysis. This role also has a great deal of autonomy in decision making and use of professional judgement.
Responsibilities include :
- Review and approve month end close activities including journal entries and budget analyst plan vs actual analysis for accuracy and completeness. Activity impacts the financial condition of MQBU with little supervision.
- Review budget vs actual comparisons for plant which are analyzedbased on professional accounting standards to ensure accurate financial information and to advise management on future activity.
- Use analytical skills and professional accounting knowledge and years of experience to work with the plant leadership and investment project leaders in complex areas in the creation of six budget events per year based on accounting budget planning schedule. (i.e. OB, PR, FC1 ,BIM,FC2,FC3)
- Use financial information to create presentations to advise business unit leadership and division leaders of budget to actual condition and make recommendations for areas of improvement. 20%
- Lead the budgeting process for the Business Unit by coordinating with management and provide financial guidance and support to ensure compliance with HDMA financial regulations and standards.
Who we are seeking :
5 plus years of experience with budgeting and accounting
Bachelor's degree in related subject (e.g., business administration, accounting, finance, etc.) or equivalent related experience.
