What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dimensional Analysis Engineer position at Honda North America?
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Dimensional Analysis Engineer to join our team at Honda North America. As a key member of our Dimensional Lab, you will be responsible for providing developmental and daily coordination of lab members, planning and ensuring effective operations, contributing as a dimensional analysis engineer, and engaging with customers to ensure the value of overall lab analysis outputs.
This role requires 3 years of applied metrology technical experience and a 2 or 4-year degree from a college or university, or a professional certificate in engineering, engineering technology, metrology, or another STEM field. You must be able to work flexible schedules, including shifts and weekends, and be willing to travel as required. In addition, you should be able to work overtime as necessary to support department needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programming, measurement inspections, and reporting using PC-DMIS, PCMM, Gantry CMM, and other tools
- Reviewing and confirming the suitability and accuracy of reports generated by engineers
- Providing technical training on metrology subjects and skills
- Engaging with customer sections to confirm that Dimensional Lab outputs align with their needs and projected changes are communicated as needed
- Creating budget proposals for operating expenses and investments, ensuring budgets are executed according to plans
- Developing performance management plans for engineer 1 members
- Ensuring Dimensional Lab operations comply with Honda Engineering Standards, Quality Management Systems, Safety policies, etc.
- Generating metrics and providing summary reports to unit management
- Creating, updating, and maintaining laboratory management systems
- Instigating PDCA for Dimensional Laboratory operations
- Planning annual upkeep of Dimensional Lab and its equipment
- Suggesting layout adjustments for the Dimensional Lab
