Equipment Engineer will have responsibility for maintaining a high running efficiency and low mean time between failure (MTBF) for responsible equipment. Equipment engineer will investigate and implement business plan or end-of-life projects to maintain or improve running efficiency of the assembly department.
- Perform Problem Solving / Root Cause Analysis - Complete problem-solving analysis, investigations, report writing, and containment/repair activity with speed.
- Maintain Equipment on-line - Study equipment performance and reliability and develop solutions for increasing uptime.
- Install new equipment - Develop Business plan and manage projects to implement new equipment for continuous improvement activities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Field or 6 years of experience required.
- Co-op experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Knowledge of Assembly Mfg environment.
- Knowledge of Mechanical Systems and 3D CAD software .
- General engineering principles as it relates to assembly equipment.
- Project Management Skills.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly to multiple layers of management.
- Determine counter measure activity from not hitting GDP or TRPU targets.
- Decide Root Cause from problem solving activity.
- Decide which equipment is best suited to complete business plan activity (DA activity).
- Manufacturing environment where able to physically perform jobs on the assembly line. (Lifting >10lbs, walking/standing 8 hrs/day, etc).
- Flexibility to work different shifts.
- Work OT as requested (typically 2-20 hours per week).
- Travel 1-4 trips/year both domestic and international.
