Job Purpose
The Software QA & Governance Department under Digital Services Development division (DSD) of American Honda Motors (AHM) is responsible for operations and quality management of digital services and software products, including Connected Apps and Backoffice. The department also provides Customer Relationship (CR) / Call Center support and training, release approval, architecture, cybersecurity, and Divisional PMO / Admin services.
The Department is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Unit Manager to lead the Software QA Operation Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the activities of the Unit, as well as providing operational direction and support for daily operational activities. The individual will manage Operations, Quality Assurance, and Quality Consulting and Training teams including junior to senior level staff of various disciplines along with external vendors.
The Unit Manager will work closely with the Department Lead and decision-makers across the organization to identify, recommend, QA, operate, sustain, and support high-quality products, solutions, and / or services for all aspects of the organization. This person will also define and implement policies, procedures, and best practices as it relates to the services and applications supported by the QA Operation Unit.
Key Accountabilities
- Collaborate with Department Leads and the extended management team to provide input for the direction and vision of AHM DS&M BU, the Division, Department, and Unit. Contribute ideas and formulate the details on executing Division, Department, and Unit strategies to sustain and operate high-quality digital services and products
- Provide leadership and oversight to QA Operation Unit operations support and contribute new ideas to the strategic alignment with established QA procedures, tools, solutions, and technologies that enable the DSD organization to deliver high-quality and high-value products and services to our customers
- Manage, lead, and refine Quality Consulting and Training activities for the Division. Enable team efficiencies working closely with cross functional teams including Call Centers, Auto Sales / Fields, INSC Call Centers, Market Quality, Parts and Services, and Factory.
- Foster associate development and long-term capability by teaching, coaching, and mentoring. Deliver consistent and effective individual performance management. For contingent staff, provide consistent and effective direction and governance for work techniques and work products. Ensure the team is motivated, engaged, and inspired to achieve goals and objectives
- Achieve the Department goals for the Operations, QA, Quality Consulting and Training as defined by the Division
